Spindle abnormalities in normally developing and arrested human preimplantation embryos in vitro identified by confocal laser scanning microscopy

K. Chatzimeletiou, E.E. Morrison, N. Prapas, Y. Prapas and A.H. Handyside

Hum. Reprod., 20, 672–682, 2005

The authors acknowledge a personal communication from Mina Alikani (now in press) which was omitted in error from page 678 and should read as follows:

‘This may therefore represent one mechanism underlying the frequently observed phenomenon of cytoplasmic fragmentation, particularly if, in the absence of a nucleus, further cycles of aberrant cytokinesis continue, as occurs, for example, following enucleation of activated mouse eggs (Alikani et al., 2005).’

Alikani et al. (2005) Cytoplasmic fragmentation in activated eggs occurs in the cytokinetic phase of the cell cycle, in lieu of normal cytokinesis, and in response to cytoskeletal disorder. Mol Hum Reprod in press.
