About the Cover

Cover Figure

The cover picture shows the matched comparative genomic hybridization and flourescence in situ hybridization results in pairs of first polar bodies and metaphase II chromosome spreads in four examples of donated human oocytes. The combined techniques were used to explore the mechanisms of aneuploidies and less one third of these arose from non-disjunction of whole chromosomes whereas more than two thirds arose from chromatid predivision. Arrows indicate orange signals for each chromatid 1. Additionally green signals correspond to chromosome 15, aqua signals to chromosome 17 and yellow signals to x chromosome See Gutierrez-Mateo et al., pp 2859-2868.
